Whilst winter brings with it another kind of beauty, the days are short and the nights long. It’s during these cold, dark months that we must look for the light. Watching frosty morning sunrises with a hot coffee or an icy evening sunset with some warm mulled wine; Glimmering rays can paint your days happy if it is there to seek. But for the times in our lives where the darkness envelopes we must find our own light…

The story behind A Light In Dark Places began during a recent difficult time of my own; It was just days after saying a sudden and heartbreaking goodbye to our beloved French bulldog pup Bear where I sat in the quiet of our cottage one night, warming myself by the log burner; I watched as the flames danced and flickered behind the glass and felt for the first time in days, peace, comfort and a sense of inner strength. Through my own heartache and loss came the idea of creating something to help others through their own dark times, whether in a physical sense or emotionally.

The candle, created in a reusable rose gold tin, has been made with ethically sourced beeswax along with organic refined coconut oil to allow the wax to breathe. The wick is wooden and when lit, will crackle and flicker; creating a flame that will bring a bright, warm, honey like glow into your home. Burning beeswax also has the added benefit of neutralising the air around you; producing negative ions to help eliminate pollutants such as dust, odours and mould in the atmosphere.

To keep the memory of our beautiful Bear cub alive, 10% of profit from each candle sale will be donated to Good Life Dog Rescue; a Yorkshire based charity who work to re-home stray and abandoned dogs.
